FAQs
When Should I Use Vitamin C?
Generally the best time to use a Vitamin C Serum is in the mornings, after cleansing and before moisturizer and SPF. It's important to note that Vitamin C can make your skin more sensitive to sun exposure so it's imperative to use a broad spectrum SPF of a minimum of 30+ after using Vitamin C.
Is there anything I should avoid mixing with Vitamin C?
It is not recommended to mix Vitamin C with AHAs (glycolic acid), and BHAs (salicylic acid). Layering them together can lower the skin's pH, making it more acidic. When skin pH goes off balance, it becomes a recipe for skin irritation, redness, and peeling. That is why we recommend using Vitamin C in the mornings and AHAs/BHAs in the evenings.
Is this formula Vegan and Cruelty Free?
Yes, all Morning Person products are proudly Vegan and Cruelty Free!
How long should I wait after application before applying a moisturizer?
For best results, any active treatment should be completely absorbed by your skin before moving on to the next step. The ideal wait time is 5-10 minutes depending on how soon the product is absorbed.
How long does this product last?
The product will last for 45-60 days for the average daily user.
How long will it take before I see results?
The effects of Vitamin C on the skin are not immediate. It may take 12-16 weeks for Vitamin C serum to target dark spots and 6-12 months for wrinkles. As with all treatments, consistency is key!
Should I put Vitamin C on to dry or damp skin?
This product should be applied to dry, freshly cleansed skin.
Can this product cause skin purging?
Some people may experience skin purging when using certain types of vitamin C, especially when used in higher concentrations. Purging is a temporary reaction that occurs when you start using a new skincare product, and it's caused by ingredients that increase cell turnover. This can bring hidden pimples to the surface of your skin faster than usual. Purging can look like a combination of whiteheads, blackheads, papules, and cysts on dry or peeling skin. Your skin might also be more sensitive. After purging, your skin's healthy cells are exposed.
If you're using vitamin C for the first time, start with a lower concentration and introduce it gradually into your routine (using every few days only) to minimize the risk of purging.
